Buyer Tips – Online Searching

Ballina Blog | Uncategorised 6th April, 2021 No Comments

If you are looking at jumping into the property market there are several ways that can help you find the home you having been looking for.

73% of buyers on online property platforms such as realestate.com.au search by “most relevant” and 61% don’t go past the first page of listings.

“Most relevant” displays properties whose agencies have paid for the listing to be boosted for the top.

The best way to discover new listings is change your search to ‘newest to oldest’ or even ‘oldest to newest’ as there may be some gems at the bottom that are prepared to sell quickly. With over 100 new listings each month in Ballina Shire, it’s worthwhile to make sure you are searching for what you want.

39% of buyers sort by property type (such as unit, villa, house) but this can work against you if a property is uploaded incorrectly. Your best bet would be to search in a general house category and filter by minimum or maximum bedrooms and bathrooms.

As always, your best search is to contact your local real estate agents who will do the filtering for you! They have the inside scoop on properties that are not even online yet and can find precisely what you are looking for.
